ABOUT NHS

The Nigerian Hypertension Society (NHS) is a non-profit non-governmental organisation of medical and non-medical people who are interested in the subject of hypertension in Nigeria. It was established on 27th April 1993 and is affiliated with the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) and the World Hypertension League (WHL).

Our mission is to ensure prevention, early diagnosis and adequate treatment of hypertension and its complications in Nigeria.

Our Aims and Objectives

Knowledge

To provide up-to-date knowledge in prevention, early detection, epidemiology, and risk factors, causes, complications, and treatment of hypertension.

Promote Awareness

To promote awareness of hypertension through dissemination of information using electronic and print media.

Innovative

To develop innovative and locally applicable guideline for the management of hypertension in Nigerian.

Remedies Barriers

To identify and facilitate remedies against sociocultural barriers to blood pressure control in Nigeria.

Translational Researches

To promote translational research on hypertension and related cardio-metabolic abnormalities and their complications.
